So after a massive rush of bug comments and suggestions and extra work to track down and fix the problems that made Ami99 not run under Win95.... I haven't heard a peep.
Did it work or not?
Anyway, I've finally added compression to the AVI save routines. It works very nicely on my P3 at work under Win2000 and somewhat poorly on my P2 at home under Win98... not drawing frames sometimes. I suspect it's more stuff with the timers.
I'm really, really starting to think that Windows 2000 is a very good upgrade... in the six months I've been using it it's proved itself a lot more stable, and the APIs seem to work better (or at all) than Win98's...
I'll hafta try some games out. ;) Anyway.. the update is on my page. The source isn't updated yet cause I didn't add all that much.
I'm seriously thinking of adding a "hard won lessons" page regarding Windows programming to my site, too... compressing AVIs is just *another* of many things I've fought for DAYS because of how hard it was to find simple documentation on. ;)
