: Does anyone know of a program/emulator that will actually read files that were originaly saved to 5.25 inch floppy using the TI99 and TI software?? I know there used to be something out there that would read TI formated disks using an IBM about 10 years ago. I have several word processor files on floppies I have saved and now need to open. Unfortunatly, I got rid of the TI in 97 and the old TIUG in the area has long since disbanded.
: Any help would be greatly appreciated. ZMann..
Did you ever get your disks converted to the IBM yet? Since the files will load into Wordpad once you get them to an IBM disk there are several ways to do it. ONe is to use Telco to transfer each file from the disk to an IBM disk using Hyperterminal on the IBM. With a CORCOMPT controller card you can directly transfer the files to an 3.5 IBM disk if you have a 3.5 drive on the TI. This will be using the program, PC TRANSFER. I used to have one but have since sold it. I do have a 5 1/4 drive on my IBM. I think It will read 360k disks but that is double density that is not available with the TI controller card that I have now. The best way would be the serial port to serial port transfer for most ti's. If you want to send me a couple of disks, I will do them for you. E Mail me for instructions, etc.
