Disk drive Problems
#1
Hey guys!
I have a expansion box with a 5.25" disk drive model PHP 1250.
After I had aquired the expansion box, I had no trouble with it and was able to read and write programs on the disk drive as well as use disk manager. Unfortunaly it wasn't but too long that I got to play to play with it. Just randomly one morning it started giving me an error saying that none of the disks I have are initialized. When I try to initialize a disk it seems to be writing to it with no problem and then gives me error 31 (record not found on input).
I tried cleaning the PCB (seemed to have some white corrosiony powder on it). I tried also cleaning the read/write head, but I'm getting the same error.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

The drive appears to have failed.
Some of those drives have a speed control, there was a program to adj them.
I have not had my full height drive out in a long while.
You need to connect another drive to verify the controller is ok, also verify the power supply. i assume your saying it doesn't read any disks

It's the corcomp diagnostic cartridge that can test speed and stepping
